NO: Dette maleriet er inspirert av et besøk på Donousa – den nordligste øya i de små østre Kykladene, øst for Naxos og nord for Amorgos. Øya er gjennomsyret av mytologi og har fått sitt navn fra Dionysos, den greske vinens gud, som ifølge legenden skjulte Ariadne her etter at hun ble forlatt av Thesevs. Jeg har integrert et fotografi jeg tok ved havnen på Donousa – et stille øyeblikk mens jeg ventet på den lille fergebåten som skulle ta meg videre til nabøya Koufonisia. Bildet er overført til maleriet ved hjelp av en "gel transfer"-teknikk, noe som gir tekstur og dybde til komposisjonen. Maleriet er en del av min greske serie – ett av tre arbeider, alle på trepanel i formatet 20 x 20 cm.
ENG: This painting draws inspiration from a visit to Donousa, the northernmost island of the Small Eastern Cyclades, nestled east of Naxos and north of Amorgos. Steeped in mythology, Donousa takes its name from Dionysus, the ancient Greek god of wine, who, according to legend, offered Ariadne refuge on the island to hide her from Theseus.
The painting incorporates a photograph I took at the port of Donousa, capturing a quiet moment while waiting for the small ferryboat to take me to the neighboring island of Koufonisia. The photograph is seamlessly integrated into the artwork using a gel transfer technique, adding texture and depth to the composition.
Part of my Greek Series, this piece is one of three paintings, each meticulously crafted on wood and measuring 20 cm x 20 cm.
