NO: The Crown of Small Joys

NO: The Crown of Small Joys
The Crown of Small Joys is about the small joys of childhood – and how fragile they can be.
A crown. An ice cream. Play, imagination and the freedom to step in and out of other worlds. In the work, these simple symbols meet fragments of photography and text, hand-stitched seams and layers of paint and paper.Beneath the playfulness and colour, there is also something more serious. Not every child gets to simply be a child. The Crown of Small Joys is a celebration of childhood wonder and imagination – and a quiet reminder of just how precious the freedom to play really is.
