NO: La Dolce Vita I
La Dolce Vita I vokste frem fra minner og fotografier fra reiser i Sør-Italia – Procida, Ischia og byene langs Amalfikysten. Fotografiet som inngår i verket, ble tatt på en av disse reisene. Balkonger, vinduer og fasader trer frem gjennom lag av maling og fotografiske fragmenter. Arkitekturen blir mindre en gjengivelse av et bestemt sted, og mer et spor av hvordan stedet lever videre i minnet.
 
La Dolce Vita I beveger seg mellom det figurative og det abstrakte, og lar sterke grønn-, rosa- og rødtoner møte transparente arkitektoniske former. Et minne om Sør-Italia – om sollys, varme, farger og den helt særegne følelsen av å være et sted man egentlig ikke har lyst til å forlate.
 
EN: La Dolce Vita I
La Dolce Vita I grew out of memories and photographs from travels in Southern Italy – Procida, Ischia and the towns along the Amalfi Coast. The photograph incorporated into the work was taken on one of those journeys. Balconies, windows and facades appear through layers of paint and photographic fragments. Architecture becomes less a record of a particular place and more a trace of how that place remains in memory.
 
Moving between the figurative and the abstract, La Dolce Vita I brings together vivid greens, pinks and reds with translucent architectural forms. A memory of Southern Italy – of sunlight, warmth, colour and the particular feeling of being somewhere you don't quite want to leave.
